Over a hundred Umrah pilgrims taking the various Umrah and Hajj Operators’ packages, had left for the holy land for fourteen days of spiritual bliss, taking advantage of the first term of school holidays. In a bid to enhance their spiritual and religious well being, Young and old Bruneians from all walks of life, had taken the opportunity to be closer to their beliefs and ALLAH by performing Umrah.
39 Pilgrims from Titan Travel and tours Branch umrah package led by Haji Ismail, Haji Rosli and Haji Hamdan also left the Sultanate to perform their religious duties in Makah and Madinah.
The pilgrims will be spending 14 days in Madinah and Mekah where the pilgrims will be performing the Umrah, , and visiting the Islamic historic sites in the two holy cities.
Umrah or sometimes referred to the ‘lesser hajj’ or the ‘smaller hajj’ is one of the muslim rituals practiced by Muslims all over the world, following the Prophet Muhammad’s Traditions stress the need for performing Umrah.
Umrah is part of the Hajj ritual however, unlike Hajj, which is a compulsory pillar of Islam, Umrah is optional and simpler. It is based on a smaller scale, involving only some selected exercises of the hajj, however the journey and the spiritual obligations, rewards, and sacrifices are just as taxing.
The Umrah is performed in reference to a Quranic command “Accomplish Hajj and Umrah for Allah” (2:196). Umrah is performed to please Allah and to earn His blessings, in favour of materialistic persuits.
Meanwhile prior to the Umrah pilgrimage the Titain Travel & Tours branch (Titian TTB) management held a briefing for 39 umrah pilgrims using the Titian Travel and Tours Branch services where it is hoped that the pilgrims will be able to perform their religious obligations with complete readiness and a pious heart.
The briefing is part of Titan TTB’s initiative to enhance the spiritual as well as physical preparation for umrah pilgrims during the stay in the two holy cities.
